Professor Kristján Kristjánsson, professor of character education and virtue ethics in the school of education at the University of Birmingham (UK) and deputy director of the Jubilee Centre for Character and Virtues, presented “Universities as Schools of Friendship.”

Saint Mary’s welcomes Justin M. Anderson, Ph.D. on May 2 to present “Thomas Aquinas, FSC? What Aquinas Could Say about Virtue in the Lasallian Tradition.” Earlier in the day, Dr. Anderson will lead a faculty seminar on his most recent book Virtue and Grace in the Theology of Thomas Aquinas.

Saint Mary’s welcomed Michael Lamb, Ph.D. to present “Several Reasons why it is Good to form Character within the University.” This presentation was open to students, faculty, and staff of Saint Mary’s and took place on October 18, 2021 at 3 pm on the Twin Cities campus. Dr. Lamb will also facilitate a seminar for faculty on strategies for character development in the context of higher education, the topic of his forthcoming article in the Journal of Character Education.
