  The Second Annual Faith Based Convening will take place, Sunday September 17, through Monday September 18, 2023. Dr. Greg Jones, president of Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee, and Dr. Liz Gulliford, Associate Professor in Psychology at the University of Northampton will be speaking at the event. The Convening will cover how faith-based institutions navigate faith commitments and service to the common good, and will be especially keen this year to identify the most effective practices in this area.

You are invited to Dr. Liz Gulliford's presentations at both Saint Mary's Winona and Minneapolis campuses, on September 19-20th, respectively. She will present on gratitude and servant leadership.

Please join us in writing encouraging, uplifting letters to young patients in hospitals, through the organization Letters of Love on September 29th, 12:30-1:30 PM, in the LaSalle Halle second floor lounge.

Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota welcomes Dr. Marvin Berkowitz and Dr. Kristin Pelster for a workshop for Ed.S. faculty on October 14th. Berkowitz is a world-renowned scholar, researcher, and educator from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. He wrote PRIMED for Character Education: Six Design Principles for School Improvement. Dr. Kristen Pelster, also from the University of Missouri-St. Louis, will also present on character education.

St. Mary’s University of Minnesota is thrilled to welcome Dr. Tony Klemmer from October 27-28 to give his “Wisdom for Good” Retreat to the Saint Mary’s  Ed.S. faculty, advisors, and staff. “Dr. Tony Klemmer, founder of Wisdom for Good, has been working closely with the EdS faculty and Saint Mary's Curriculum Department as they take on the task of re-writing the curriculum for our highly respected Principal, Special Education Director, and Superintendent licensure programs,” says Ed.S. Program Director, Marcia Nelson. “Tony has invited the Saint Mary's faculty to experience a personal formation journey for themselves before they are tasked with taking [...]

The Notre Dame Club of Minnesota is partnering with the Basilica of Saint Mary in Minneapolis and Saint Mary's University of Minnesota in presenting the Hesburgh Lecture series: Bridging the Divide. University of Notre Dame professor Dr. John Duffy will discuss the civic virtues, especially finding common ground in political discourse.
