Saint Mary’s welcomed Dr. Kristin Melley, the executive director of Dominican Veritas Ministries, on September 16 to present to the inaugural cohort of students in the Catholic school leadership program. Among Dr. Melley’s many accomplishments, she has served as principal of Notre Dame Academy in Hingham, MA and the director of professional development at the Roche Center for Catholic Education at Boston College.
St. Mary’s University of Minnesota is thrilled to welcome Dr. Marvin Berkowitz and Dr. Kristin Pelster for a two part workshop for Ed.S. faculty on October 14th. Berkowitz is a world-renowned scholar, researcher, and educator from the University of Missouri-St. Louis. He wrote PRIMED for Character Education: Six Design Principles for School Improvement. The School of Education hosted its Summer Institute on June 15 and 16 for candidates in the Education Specialist (Ed.S.) in Educational Administration program on the Minneapolis Campus. Supported by the $1.7 million grant received from the Kern Family Foundation, the Summer Institute featured nationally recognized speakers and formation activities aimed to equip participants to become leaders of character and lead schools of character.
